For the first time,\u00a0<strong>all four HQs of Crete\u2019s prefectures &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0Chania, Rethymnon, Heraklion, Lasithi &#8211; will also illuminate on the day. This year, the awareness week is under the auspices of the\u00a0<strong>7th Health Region of Crete<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hc-crete.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.hc-crete.gr\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Announcement &amp; promotion of\u00a0<strong>new innovative treatment and study<\/strong>\u00a0by Public CBBC and Univ. Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) and the Hematology and Vascular surgery Clinics on the use of cord blood PRP in diabetic patients with chronic ulcers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Donation of\u00a0 100 new cord blood units<\/strong>\u00a0through Public CBBC and the National Transplant Organisation of Greece to WMDA.<br>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Live &amp; Interactive sessions<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>for Secondary School students<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; throughout the awareness week &#8211; with the scientists of the Public CBBC &amp; the Haemopoiesis Research Lab, co-organised with the Regional Directorate of Secondary Education of Heraklion.<br>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Blood Drive &amp; voluntary donor sign-up on the National Marrow &amp; HSCs Registry on November 15th<\/strong>\u00a0from 17:00-20:00 at Elefterias Square.<br><br>A public awareness kiosk will be set up where Public CBBC staff will provide information on cord blood donation and hand-outs. Co-organised with\u00a0<strong>NGO \u2018Aimatocritis<\/strong>\u2019(www.aimatocritis.gr) in co-operation with the\u00a0<strong>University Hospital of Heraklion\u00a0<\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pagni.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.pagni.gr<\/a>) and the support of Region of Crete.<br>The\u00a0<strong>Children\u2019s Creative Centre of Heraklion Municipality<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kdap.dikeh.gr\/prosopiko-kdap\">https:\/\/www.kdap.dikeh.gr\/prosopiko-kdap<\/a>) also participate with the aim to spread the message on cord blood donation and to promote solidarity and the active participation in volunteer acts for the benefit of citizens and society alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211;<strong>Blood Drive and information on cord blood donation<\/strong>\u00a0and hand-outs will take place on the same date (15\/11)\u00a0\u00a0<strong>in Chania<\/strong>\u00a0by NGO \u2018Orizontas\u2019(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.orizondas.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.orizondas.gr\/<\/a>) from 09-14.00&amp;\u00a0<strong>in\u00a0Rethymnon<\/strong>, on 14th &amp; 15th November, by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors &#8216;Dotes Zois&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sea.rethymnou.dotes.zois\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.facebook.com\/sea.rethymnou.dotes.zois\/<\/a>) and in collaboration with &#8216;Omilos Vrakoforon Kritis&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/omilosvrakoforonkritis.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/omilosvrakoforonkritis.gr\/<\/a>), with the cooperation\/at the General Hospital of Rethymno (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rethymnohospital.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.rethymnohospital.gr\/<\/a>) from 08:00-13:00 &amp; 16:00- 19:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Virtual art &amp; photography exhibition by doctors and students of the School of Medicine UoC, and Universities abroad<\/strong>\u00a0through-out the week 14-18 November 2022 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsteps.com\/view\/5fa33ac948e0fe016ee9a2be\">https:\/\/www.artsteps.com\/view\/5fa33ac948e0fe016ee9a2be<\/a>)<br><br>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Launch of new Revamped website for Public CBBC<\/strong>.
