The awareness week is under the auspices of the 7th Health Region of Crete (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hc-crete.gr\/\">www.hc-crete.gr<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Live &amp; Interactive <strong>sessions for Secondary School students<\/strong> \u2013 throughout the awareness week \u2013 with the scientists of the Public CBBC &amp; the Haemopoiesis Research Lab, co-organised with the Regional Directorate of Secondary Education of Heraklion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Virtual art &amp; photography exhibition<\/strong> &#8211; updated with new submissions to the existing works of art &#8211; by doctors and students of the School of Medicine UoC, and Universities abroad, running through-out the week 13-17 November 2022 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsteps.com\/view\/5fa33ac948e0fe016ee9a2be\">www.artsteps.com\/view\/5fa33ac948e0fe016ee9a2be<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Joint press releases<\/strong> by Public CBBC and co-organizers of the \u2018Stem Cell Awareness Week\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>social media outreach<\/strong> by Public CBBC advancing public perception on cord blood donation and the benefits of the use of cord blood for innovative treatments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Outreach\/Info session<\/strong> by the staff of Public CBBC on cord blood donation at the University Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) for staff members, visitors and expecting parents (15\/11) from <strong>13.00-14.00<\/strong> and info on the expecting <strong>parents\u2019 seminars<\/strong> which take place virtually every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Event open for the general public in\u00a0<strong>Chania by NGOs \u2018Aghios Ioannis\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/facebook.com\/agioannis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">facebook.com\/agioannis<\/a>)<strong>\u00a0and \u2018Orizontas\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.orizondas.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.orizondas.gr\/<\/a>) in cooperation with the\u00a0<strong>Municipality of Chania<\/strong>, and the support of the group \u2018Supporters of Mothers\u2019 breast-feeding\u2019 (<a href=\"http:\/\/facebook.com\/xaniathilasmos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">facebook.com\/xaniathilasmos<\/a>), on the importance of cord blood donation by raising awareness, speeches, info sessions and hand-outs. In addition, an award ceremony will take place, awarding cord blood donors from Chania (16\/11 at 18.30).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Spreading the message on cord blood donation and its therapeutic properties through <strong>Public CBBC official song:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/AJntdhqqNrw\">youtu.be\/AJntdhqqNrw<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Virtual tour<\/strong> at Public CBBC (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cordbloodbankcrete.gr\/?page_id=3303\">www.cordbloodbankcrete.gr\/?page_id=3303<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the <strong>Public Cord Blood Bank of the General Hospital G. Papanikolaou in Thessaloniki<\/strong> joins the activities of the #StemCellAwarenessWeek2023. Staff will hold <strong>awareness raising activities<\/strong> on cord blood donation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; at <strong>public and private maternity clinics<\/strong>, including maternity Clinic &#8216;Genesis&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; putting up <strong>posters <\/strong>at maternity clinics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-by <strong>mobilising local blood donor associations<\/strong> to provide to expecting parents the boxes for the collection\/transfer of the collected cord blood<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>social media outreach<\/strong> with the <strong>publication<\/strong> of a text on cord blood donation and the speech of the Director on the role of public cord blood banks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-at <strong>primary and secon<\/strong>d<strong>ary<\/strong>
